We would like to invite you (faculty, staff, and students) to a lecture by Dr. Janet Helms on October 17th at 7:00 p.m.. Dr. Helms is the Director of the Institute for the Study and Promotion of Race and Culture and holds the Augustus Long Professorship in the Department of Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology at Boston College. She is the author of "A Race Is a Nice Thing to Have: A Guide to Being a White Person or Understanding the White Persons in Your Life," available at titles.cognella.com…. Dr. Helms is available for book signing.

A reception will be held on the 4th floor of Alkek from 5:30 - 6:30 preceding the 7:00 lecture. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend both the reception and Dr. Helms' lecture
