Scholarship applications are normally available in February and due at the end of February. For more specific information on applications and deadlines, please contact the main Psychology office.
Fahringer-Fox Scholarship
The Fahringer-Fox scholarship is our newest
scholarship. It is named in honor of one of our long time instructors who retired from from
teaching in the Department. The scholarship is for students with strong academic records for the amount
of $500.
William James Scholarship
The William James Scholarship is funded for $200 by the faculty and staff in the
Department of Psychology. Students must be enrolled for 12 or more hours, demonstrate
financial need, have a GPA of 3.0 or above, by an upper level student when receiving
the scholarship and be a member of one of the two student
organizations in the Department.
Leah Burnett Scholarship
The Leah Burnett Scholarship is an annual $500 scholarship established to honor
the memory of Leah Burnett, an outstanding Texas State psychology graduate. The recipient
must be a junior or senior psychology major with strong academic credentials.
Financial need would be a low priority consideration.

Outstanding Senior in Psychology
Each year the faculty of the Department nominate and select an Outstanding Senior
in Psychology to receive a cash award of $100. This Honor is only possible through
nomination by a Psychology Department Faculty member, so there is no application.
Students who are nominated will be informed of their nomination by the Department.
