Texas State University-San Marcos invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Psychology.
Responsibilities
We seek a dynamic and progressive administrator who will promote growth of the department’s research and educational
programs and engender a collegial academic culture. Course load is one/one, with 75% of the Chair’s workload allocated
to leading the department in developing and implementing its strategic plan, as well as managing the daily operations
of the department.
Qualifications
Required:
A doctorate in Psychology or a closely related field is required as is a record of teaching, scholarship, and service
which would qualify the successful applicant for a tenured position in the Department of Psychology at the Associate or
Professor rank, with salary commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate
rank based on university and department established standards. Area of specialization is open.
Preferred:
Administrative ability, administrative experience, leadership, vision for developing the department’s strategic plan,
interpersonal/mentoring skills, scholarship, commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and fit with the department.
Preference will be given to someone whose background and experience would enhance a growing M.A. program in Health
Psychology.

Texas State University-San Marcos invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in psychology with graduate level training related to occupational health
psychology and/or program evaluation, maintain an active research program, secure external funding, direct student research,
and teach courses in occupational health/program evaluation psychology.
Qualifications
Required:
Ph.D. in psychology with graduate level training including occupational health psychology and/or program evaluation or
a closely related specialization in psychology; evidence of an active research program; potential for: teaching courses
in research/evaluation and occupational health/industrial–organizational psychology; developing and supervising
student internships; involving graduate/undergrad students in research; and securing external funding.
Preferred:
Strong methodological background; demonstrated effective teaching credentials/student evaluations; experience
related to supervising graduate theses/research; teaching and research interests in organizational theories;
structures; processes; primary prevention, interventions; programs reducing occupational stress, illness and
injury; or program evaluation.
